An exciting day for a matric pupil, anticipating a braai with his schoolmates, took a harrowing turn when he was allegedly lured into a trap by his "trusted" teacher, who has since been charged with rape.

The accused rapist, who teaches at Hoërskool Hentie Cilliers, is out on R3 000 bail after he was arrested and appeared in court last week.

Police confirmed the coach faced "rape-related" charges.
