A group of eight speed skaters from Mitchells Plain, who bagged nine national medals in the recent SA Rollersport national competition in Johannesburg, are on a mission to raise more awareness about the sport so that more Cape Flats youth can be kept off the streets.

The youngsters say rollerblading has kept them off the streets and has been a "life-changer" for them.

Now they want others to benefit in the very same way.
