By the time sprinter Bayanda Walaza rolls into Maritzburg for the SA Senior National Championships this week, he will probably be the only athlete who is already in possession of a title - that of the world's fastest teenager.

As titles go, it is one that doesn't exactly come with a trinket, but it is no less impressive.

When Walaza rewrote his personal bests at the SA Junior Championships in the 100m and 200m in late March - to 10.13 sec and 20.34 sec - the times also made the 18-year-old the fastest teenager in the world.
