The story
Siyabonga Sangweni, who enjoyed a successful career in local football with Orlando Pirates and Lamontville Golden Arrows, will be given his flowers by the community that raised him.
On Saturday, the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Sport, Arts, and Culture will inaugurate the Dondotha Sports Complex, a project that cost R47 million according to the department.
The village of Dondotha is the hometown of Sangweni, who was affectionately known as "Nsimbi" during his playing days and this sports complex promises to revolutionise sports and recreation in the district of King Cetshwayo and northern KwaZulu-Natal.As mentioned by the department, fans will be treated with an array of activities, including an exhibition match between Orlando Pirates Legends and Kaizer Chiefs Legends.
As a build-up to the Legends Soweto Derby, KwaZulu-Natal Legends will face off against King Cetshwayo Legends.
The handover ceremony of the sports complex will be used as an opportunity to pay tribute to the Sangweni, regarded as a KZN sporting legend, honoring his contributions to the community.

Sangweni, who earned 29 caps for Bafana Bafana, is best known for his time with Soweto giants Orlando Pirates, winning three major honours including a league title in the 2011/12 season.
The hardman's six-year spell with the Buccaneers came to a sudden end in 2016, where he was forced to retire due to reoccurring injury problems.
