Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected in some parts of the country, according to the South African Weather Service

Fire danger warnings:

Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected over the western and northern parts of Limpopo, central parts of the Northern Cape as well as the northern parts of the Western Cape and Eastern Cape.

The weather in your region

Gauteng will be fine and warm. The expected UVB sunburn index is high.

It will be fine and warm in Mpumalanga, but hot on the Lowveld.

Limpopo will be fine and warm, but hot in the Limpopo Valley and south-western Bushveld.

The North West will be fine and warm to hot, while the Free State will be fine and warm.

Morning fog patches can be expected along the coast of the Northern Cape, where it will be partly cloudy, otherwise fine, windy, and warm to hot but cool in the south.

The wind along the coast will be light and variable in the north, becoming light to moderate south to south-easterly from the afternoon.

It will be partly cloudy along the coast in the Western Cape, with morning fog patches along the west coast, otherwise fine and cool to warm to hot but cool along the south-west coast.

The wind along the coast will be light to moderate north-easterly to easterly in the morning, otherwise it will be north-westerly to westerly but southerly to south-westerly along the west coast.

The expected UVB sunburn index is moderate.

The Eastern Cape's western half will be fine and warm but hot in places in the north.

The wind along the coast will be light north-easterly.

The province's eastern half will be partly cloudy with morning and evening fog patches south of the escarpment, otherwise fine and warm.

The wind along the coast will be light to moderate north-easterly.

KwaZulu-Natal will be partly cloudy in the east with morning fog patches in places over the interior, otherwise it will be fine and warm.

The wind along the coast will be moderate south-easterly but light to moderate north-easterly in the south, spreading to Cape St Lucia by late afternoon and becoming fresh to strong in places south of Richards Bay.

The expected UVB sunburn index is extreme.
