A former SA Revenue Services (SARS) employee turned private tax practitioner, who is charged with VAT fraud along with Nafiz Modack and others, has applied for bail again, saying his family is struggling and since no one will print his case file for him, he needs to be released to prepare his defence.

Nobody will give him an ink reader either - a device similar to a Kindle - or let him use a laptop, he claimed.

In the bail application that he brought on the basis of new facts in the Western Cape High Court, Faried van der Schyff said he and his wife were ill and becoming increasingly broke. He needs to be out of jail to support the family again, he lamented.
