It was clear from reading the weekend papers that the pre-election political noise is close to reaching its crescendo and that, in the rush to opine, some commentators are drifting away from reality.
Which wouldn't be such a terrible thing if it weren't for the fact that our economy, our livelihoods and whether or not we'll have retirement funds, water, electricity, food and roads in the future were at stake.
