A rape case was opened by the Free State department of education on Friday against a 23-year-old suspect. He appeared in the Bloemfontein Magistrates' Court on Monday.

According to the Free State department of education's spokesperson, Howard Ndaba, the alleged rape happened at an early childhood development centre in Bloemfontein last Thursday.
