Suspended director-general says he tried to alert Ramaphosa to the minister’s conduct but the president paid no attention.

The fallout between Minister of Higher Education and Training Blade Nzimande and his suspended director-general Gwebinkundla Qonde has blown open the manner in which the powerful politician ran his portfolio, with allegations of improper interference, dodgy tender processes, paranoia and petty politicking.
