Q.

Pepticate formula - 8 months old baby

Good day, My son is on Pepticate since he was 6 weeks old. He is growing nicely but was told he is loosing weight but at a normal rate as he is much more busier now. He wakes up 3 times a night from which he will drink 1 to two bottles of 180ml each. Must I be worried that the formula is not keeping him full enough or is this just comfort drinking?

It would have been good to know your baby's weight. He should not be losing weight, even if he is more active now. Pepticate is a special formula for babies who are allergic to cow's milk. Why is your baby on this special formula? He does appear to be getting hungry at night as he drinks quite a lot through the night each time that he wakes. It would be good if he could be on a regular cow's milk formula such as Lactogen 2 or Novalac SD which are both suitable for hungry babies. So you need to know why he was put on Pepticate formula and if he is still allergic to cow's milk. He should be on a variety of solid foods by now.
