Everyone and their mom have decided to join in on the 75 Hard social media fitness challenge. The viral fitness challenge is currently flooding social media as millions of people try to up their fitness levels to become healthier versions of themselves.

The challenge involves participants following a strict regime that includes long hours of exercise, drinking gallons of water, reading every day, and following a strict diet.

It was created by entrepreneur Andy Frisella, a podcaster and CEO of supplement company 1st Phorm.

According to Forbes, Frisella created the challenge after interviewing Guinness World Record breaker James Lawrence.

Also known as the "Iron Cowboy," Lawrence is famous for completing 50 Ironman races in 50 consecutive days.

Speaking to Frisella about this, he shared how placing himself in an uncomfortable situation helped him build his mental endurance.

Inspired by this, Lawrence started working on a challenge that he hoped would help participants “develop mental fortitude”.

And so, the 75 Hard was born.
