Q.

Pressure and infection in ears, painful neck and under jawline

I have been diagnosed with an ear infection in both ears. Have been on Zyrtec D as well as antibiotics for 4 days and still pressure and congestion exist. I have pain in the back of my neck all the way around to the front and under my jawline. I wake up and all around my neck is the worst pain and aches I have ever experienced. After I get moving and have coffee it subsides , but my neck pain ( neck strain from carrying too many school bags as I am a teacher . No x-rays were done on neck ) existed in the back of neck months before infection and congestion hit. I have had no fever with the neck and ear issues. I really want to feel good again but these neck issues and now ear pressure and infection are wearing me down. My lymph nodes are swollen in my neck and hurt when touched. Other pertinent information is I am a smoker and have a diagnosis for Adult ADD and take 30 mg Adderall daily. I take no other medication daily ..

You should stop smoking and seek an opinion regarding your neck pain. The ear ear infections seem to have been treated appropriately.
