Q.

Not sure if Sinusitis Rhinitis or something else...

I'm a 28 year old male. It all started after new year eve, that night I got really drunk (I literally forgot to eat any meal) and the next 2 days I felt really bad as if I was in a continuous hangover with a foggy head and congested nose other then the classic feelings of hangover. The days pass and I realize I have a continuous pressure between the nose and my left eye, sometimes on the forehead and sometimes this pressure/discomfort extends to my ear. I also feel often confused and with a foggy brain, I'm sleepy and sometimes the pressure behind my eye becomes very annoying that I can barely work. I decide its time to go to the doctor and he gives me medicine to treat both a bacterial and virus sinusitis... They don t work. Another month pass and I decide to go to another doctor, this time he tells me that I don't have exactly a sinusitis but allergic rhinitis and that the symptoms I'm facing are those of an allergy. He gives me a cortisone nasal spray that I start using and indeed I feel better, the foggy sensation diminishes and someday I'm also free of the pressure. Strange thing is that I never had allergies and I would have developed it in January may be due to the pollution (I live in Bangkok). The time passes and I kind of get used to have pressure on the left side of my head, I travel around the world in places with different ecosystems and weather and still seem that anywhere I go I have the symptoms of this "allergy", sometimes my head starts spinning and I have a big sense of confusion, other symptoms are sore throat, nasal congestion (i also have deviated septum) and I feel as my legs need continuously to stretch. Now its July and is many months now that I have this condition and I have no idea what might cause or how to heal it. I want to point out another couple things, since 2 years I have a feeling of pressure to my stomach that the doctors told me its due to the multiple food intolerances I have, unfortunately seem like i m intolerant to virtually anything so its really hard for me to keep a diet that avoids dairy, carbs, nuts and the rest but at least since i got to know i have that I feel less pain to the stomach as i m trying to contain myself from eating too much of the risky foods. I also often have pain to my neck and back, dunno if it can be related in any way but yeah... there also that. Unfortunately, these conditions are starting to affect my mental health and I often find myself being very irritable and prone to depression

If the spray alleviates the symptoms then stick to it. You might need a CT of the sinuses to exclude chronic sinusitis. I can’t comment on your food and gut problems.
