Q.

Urethra burns

My husband had brachytheraphy 2 years ago. There is no sign of cancer now but his urethra burns to the extent he cannot stand it. He has had antibiotics. This all started after a urologist did a scrape.pf the urethra. This causes him much stress and pain, the latter being the main problem. Is there an op like the ladies have to stop dripping (in South Africa) or a shunt to insert whilst healing takes place if this is an infectio0n causing the pain. He is exhausted all day every day. Please try and help.

Dear I

Your husband needs to be assessed, and I would recommend a cystoscopy.
If there is evidence of delayed healing, I would suggest Hyperbaric Oxygen therapy. This can be very successful in managing the problems your husband is experiencing.
Kind regards
Prenevin
