Flu vaccine

Is the flu shot not mostly Live Vaccine(Live Virus Vaccine) perhaps people don't like my question. But Influenza its main power is Recombonation with other strains so not to mention also any Live Influenza virus Vaccine it can really scramble the prediction of the new strain because everything just mixes up..So the question is.., Are you really sure Live virus vaccines don't mix up and recombonate with wild strains?....And also if the current shot does not match the wild strain will it distract the immune system so it only becomes worse...My parents always told me to spend a lot of time outside especially during the dark days before Christmas where the UV index is the lowest and the Influenza reaches its highest activity peak.

Great question, although I have absolutely no idea. I do know that a new vaccine is created every year to cover as many of the new and virulent strains of the flu virus that has developed. The flu virus itself inevitably mutates every year. I agree that one should get exposure, but I have also seen the flu virus being extremely aggressive this year, especially in my part of the world - and those who had the flu vaccination did either not get ill or did not get as ill as those who were not vaccinated. Hope this partially answers your question.
