Q.

Delay in diet

To what extent can a specific diet delay the onset of the genetic condition of type 1 diabetes? Is there any research or data that has proven or rejected the claim that a diet type 1 diabetes may be delayed or reversed?

Hi

There is no current evidence that altering your diet can delay the onset of type 1 diabetes. There is some evidence that if you are overweight, that you coud bring on type 1 diabetes  sooner, and therefore theoretically if you are overweight, by losing weight you could delay the onset, but not stop it. There isn't a formal study that has tested this theory though
