Q.

Sugar levels run from 103-489 since 1980. it has gotten so expensive that my total prescriptions I take cost $814.00 a month. My S.S. does not now cover the cost. What will happen if I go off my meds and will i have time to get me and my eating in control to try and control b/s by low fat and carb meals.

Hi

If you are on a lot of medication and your levels are still high, then you need your medication, and although losing weight, exercising and eating properly can help, it may not be enough, and your levels could go even higher, putting you at risk of diabetes related complications.
