Q.

I stay hungry and crave starch a lot. I get very tired and moody every day. AM I at risk for diabetes? My mom is a diabetic. I am a 39 year old female.

Hi

Risk factors for diabetes are being overweight, a family history of diabetes, high blood pressure, raised cholesterol, decreased exercise or polycystic ovarian syndrome. With a mother being diabetic, you are at higher risk, and therefore you will need to watch your weight. Symptoms of raised glucose levels are tiredness, blurred vision, occasionally weight loss, drinking lots of water and passing too much urine. If you are concerned regarding your levels, then I would suggest having a formal fasting glucose test

Good day, Is gaining weight around my midsection only a sign of insulin resistance?
