Hi

The foot needs to be regularly monitored by the surgeons involved in the amputation. Time to heal will depend on multiple factors(infection, circulation, age, glucose levels etc). Good glucose levels will help the healing, but he needs to know what his glucose targets are from  his doctor, as low glucose levels also have their problems.
