Q.

Diabetic type 2 for the past 15 years

I take 8 diabetic tablets a day. My blood sugar reading is always 7.2 before taking breakfast. Should i stop taking the tablets?

Hi

The current glucose levels are not ideal, but they would be higher without the tablets, and therefore I wouldn't stop the tablets. You ideally want the fasting level to be below 6, if you have no complications from diabetes.As the levels are not too far from the target, you could modify your diet and exercise and lose weight if you are overweight, as this will help with the fasting levels. Alternatively you will need the medication adjusted
