Is Risperdal commonly used to treat trouble sleeping? (retry posting)

My psychiatrist who i have been seeing to deal with my depression and social anxiety has me taking Lamictin everyday. I have always had trouble sleeping, usually takes a few hours to fall asleep but since I've been on the Lamictin its been even worse. My psychiatrist has now prescribed me 0.25mg of Risperda at night to help me sleep. My question: Is Risperdal something generally used to help with sleep disorders or is my Psychiatrist prescribing me something to help with the anxiety/depression and just telling me its to help me sleep? (dunno if the question was posted the first time I tried)
