Q.

Do I have anxiety or depression, I really need help.

I have been struggling with feelings of anxiety and negative thinking, I have been struggling to gain weight and I think it's because of constantly feeling stressed. I am constantly anxious and this has affected me so much that I don't even have a social life. I have asked for help from my family members but they don't think anything serious, how can I get help?

Hi Benny,
It's not your task to make the diagnosis, but to recognize that you're unhappy and in need of help, and to arrange to be seen by an appropriate expert for a proper assessment and a discussion of your treatment options. So see your GP, or a clinic or casualty doctor, for a first assessment.  They may refer you to a psychiatric specialist, but may well be able to help you directly themselves.  You may benefit from medication, and/or from seeing a counsellor.
Your family members might be well-meaning, but they can't assess you properly, and so many people are very brave about the suffering of other people. Anxiety and depression often arise together, and usually respond vry well to proper treatment.
