Q.

18-year-old with ADHD and a twitch

I have always though I have adhd, since like 6th grade when I read about what it was. I get super anxious and figitey when sitting in one place for a long period of time. I also am always moving my fingers, tapping my teeth, getting up. WHen people talk to me I can't listen and stare right into their face while my mind wanders. I get easily overwhelmed by nothing but can somehow manage calm in a sea of chaos. I hit basically every symptom and get high scores on all those online tests. And all of the symptoms get worse with stress. Is there a high likelyhood of my having adhd? I do really well in school because I am smart enough that my procrastination and time managment issues are masked. Also, I have this thing where I feel like I need to move my shoulder up and around. It is repetitive and generally happens when I am still sitting, standing, in a car, with friends at dinner, whatever. I also have teh urge to roll my left wrist but can control it much more. But I am 18 and in college. Both of the above have been present things for a long time btw. Any ideas?

The symptoms you describe are highly suggestive of ADHD. I would recommend a comprehensive assessment by a qualified psychiatrist with experience in adult ADHD.
