SKIN PROBLEM WITH HANDS

MOTHER HAS SEVERE SKIN PROBLEM FOR ABOUT 2 YEARS NOW. HAVE BEEN TO NUMEROUS DOCTORS AND DERMATOLOGISTS. HAVE HAD SEVERAL TREATMENTS TO NO AVAIL. SKIN BECOMES SCALY AND LIFTS, ITCHES UNCONTROLABLY, BURSTS OPEN INTO CRACS. SHE CANNOT USE HER HANDS AS IT IS TOO PAINFUL. HAVE BEEN DIAGNOSED AS A FUNGUS, HAND ECZEMA, DERMATITIS ETC. BUT TO DATE NO TREATMENT TO BE SUCCESFUL. THIS ONLY OCCURS ON FINGERS AND HEELS. CAN U GIVE ADVICE?

It is difficult to give an opinion with out seeing the skin but it sounds like a dermatitis to me too. You could try some of the newer medications like Tacrolimus. alternatively try Coal tar preparation like Psorigel. Constant and regular moisturizing and avoidance of chemical cleaning agents are very important.
