Our expert says:
Yes, oral sex can be very helpful as, if it done correctly, it can be very arousing. This arousal will kick start vaginal lubrication.
For anal sex, oral sex is not as helpful, and other types of lubricants need to be used. If you are using a condom, be aware of which lubricants are safe for use with condoms. Some lubricants can destroy condoms.
Salvia is not a great lubricant as it tends to be absorbed by the body, or dry up really quickly. If you do not want to spend lots of money on store bought lubricants, olive oil can used. A word of warning though: oil damages latex condoms and some research has shown that it can lead to an increase in yeast infections.
VERDICT: It is always best to get the natural juices flowing if possible; so always wait to lubricate!
