A 38-YEAR-OLD man from Tshidimbini village in Limpopo allegedly killed his 41-year-old elder brother on Monday morning, 13 May.
The gruesome incident has left the community at large in shock and disbelief.
It’s reported that the altercation, which took place at their home, began as a heated argument between the two brothers, and he allegedly injured his sister (32).
Witnesses describe the scene as harrowing.
"We are shocked because we don’t know them as violent people, and we heard the screaming during the argument," a witness told Daily Sun.
The suspect and his slain brother reportedly used to attend church together.
Avhakholwi Tshivhase, a member of the local royal family, said they are left questioning how such a close bond could end in such a tragic way.
"This is unusual because the brothers were always happy together, and the suspect does not have a history of violence. We are still in disbelief over the incident because we have never even received complaints from them," he said.

The police spokesman in Limpopo, Brigadier Hlulani Mashaba, confirmed that the police responded to the complaint of murder and attempted murder.
“Upon arrival at the scene, they came across a human head at the gate, and when they proceeded to the house, they found the decapitated body of a 41-year-old man tied with a rope. It was also established that a 32-year-old woman and her 10-year-old girl were already transported to the hospital,” Mashaba said.
According to Mashaba, the suspect was arrested at the scene, and police further seized items that included a hammer, spade, and knife believed to have been used in the commission of the crime.
“The police have since opened a case of murder and two counts of attempted murder against the suspect."
Provincial police commissioner Lieutenant-General Thembi Hadebe said such senseless, cruel, and inhumane brutality has no place in our society.
“We condemn it in the strongest possible terms. No one has a right to take anybody’s life, even with the slightest provocation," said Hadebe.
The suspect will soon appear before Thohoyandou Magistrates Court.
