Q.

Wortelkanaalbehandeling en antibiotika

Beste dr Ek het infeksie (abses) in tand en tandarts het antibiotika binne in tand gesit om dit op te klaar en daarna gaan 'n wortelkanaalbehandeling gedoen word. Ek wil weet of ek dalk 'n kursus antibiotika moet neem voor die wortelkanaalbehandeling gedoen word of moet dit eerder na die wortelkanaalbehandeling gedoen word? Wanneer is die beste tyd, ek is bang infeksie is nie heeltemal opgeklaar nie en wil nie kanse waag nie.

There is no need to take as course of antibiotics before or after a root canal treatment unless the dentist has prescribed it. Your dentist will determine whether you have an infection or not.
