When actress Lisa Rinna recently attended the 2024 Fashion Trust US Awards, fans were quick to point out that something seemed amiss.

“I can’t believe that’s her,” one said.

“I didn’t even recognise her,” another added.

It’s no secret that Lisa (60) is a big fan of cosmetic surgery. But evidently when she recently opted for facial fillers she got more than she bargained for. Commentators noted that her face looked overfilled, especially her cheeks.

In a TikTok video, aesthetic physician assistant Nicole Smith noted that the key to doing dermal fillers or Botox is to remain looking youthful and not to change or alter your appearance.

“They placed too much filler in the cheeks and midface. It throws off the full facial balance. With good injection techniques, your results should be undetectable,” she explained.

Nicole added that cheek fillers should be done in moderation and advised that patients should find a professional who will warn them when they've reached “maximum filler potential”.

For patients over 35, she recommended volume replacement in the cheeks.

“There is a point where anything more than that will distort your natural facial features.”

Nicole’s video got so much traction that Lisa later commented on it.

“Skinvive is not for everyone and it was not good for me. Luckily we could dissolve it today, thank God,” she wrote.

The filler Lisa used is called Skinvive Juvéderm and is defined by the US Food and Drug Administration as a gel implant or dermal filler that’s injected into areas of facial tissue.

This is done to add definition or reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles.

Lisa later shared an Instagram story warning her followers against the product.

“Be aware of it. Don’t let anyone tell you it’s going to make your skin glow and be hydrated. They claim it’s not going to add volume but it absolutely does,” she wrote.

“It added volume on me. I didn’t want that but thankfully it could be dissolved.”

This is not the first time Lisa, who's married to actor Harry Hamlin, has regretted aesthetic procedures she’s had done. In past interviews she acknowledged that she’d gone too far with facial fillers.

“I overdid it. I saw a picture of myself and thought, ‘Uh-oh’.

“At my age, you have to look good if you want to continue working and that helped. I tried Botox and then fillers came and I thought it’s not a bad idea.”

The reality TV star has also faced criticism for her plump pout, which she admitted had been injected with silicone when she was 24 years old.

“I had my lips like that for my whole career. Years later I had my doctor remove as much of the silicone as they could,” she said in an interview with the Today show.

“My lips have had their own career, I don’t regret getting it done.”

Her advice to anyone considering getting any work done on their face is to be careful.

“I’m the perfect example as to why people should be careful.”
