A cough mixture in this situation is generally not useful.  You have to address the caused.  Postnasal drip is usually treated with an antihistamine to dry up secretions and with an anti-inflammatory nasal spray usually steroid in origin.  You need to ask your doctor to prescribe these medicines after appropriately assessing your case.
