Q.

Purbac for scalp acne

Hi there, I have recently been prescribed Purbac for a skin condition on my scalp that causes acne. I was wondering if there are any alternatives to Purbac which should work better. I am aware of Roaccutane, but I'm not sure I was to take such an aggresive approach as the purbac seems to work quite well as long as I keep taking it. I'm looking for another option just short of something as aggresive as Roaccutane but also very effective.

There are some other antibiotics like tetracyclines which is used in the same manner and for the same reason. We sometimes also use a cortisone scalp lotion with good result.
