Hi

Both are long acting insulins, but the one(Lantus) is an analogue(modified human insulin) and the other(protaphane) is a human insulin. You could swop from one to the other, but there would be a bit of a dosage adjustment needed, as you will likely need more of the protaphane than the Lantus. Suggest discuss with your doctor
