pain when exercising

I'm 34yrs old, October last year i had tightening pain in my left knee, My Dr did some xrays and found that i have Arthritis on my left knee and hipbone. She did some tests to determine what kind of arthritis was it. She discovered that I had neither the juvenille or the old age one. it was due to me being overweight. she gave me medication which took care of the pain, and advised me to see a dietitian. I started there and there to change the way I eat as I took all of this as a wake up call to take care of myself. Then I consulted a dietitian January 2013 about an eating plan. I started to exercise by doing Zumba and I didn't see any progress rather the pain continued. Then a month later I started to walk to work. the distance took me 30 minutes. then from time to time I'll take a route that takes me an hour to get to work. it was hard and in lot of pain the first week. the 2nd week it got really really better. i'm losing weight not fast but at a sturdy pace, my dietitian said I'm doing great. the problem is that 45 minutes into my walk I start having pain on my knee and the hip. I always push past the pain, then properly do a total body stretch after each workout. now the pain worries me, do i have to consult my Dr or the pain will go away as I continue to loose weight. Please help. I'm really enjoying walking and doing Zumba from time to time I do not wish to stop because I feel really great even though I still have a long way to go.
