The Sharks, and to a larger extent the Springboks, have a significant injury to deal with after Lukhanyo Am was ruled out of Friday's Challenge Cup final against Gloucester in London.

Am came off with what looked like a shoulder injury in the 25-24 United Rugby Championship (URC) loss to Benetton at home two weeks ago.
