In a battle of the Plumtrees, it was John's Sharks that came out on top over his son Taine's Scarlets as the Durban-based franchise ran out 32-27 winners in a tight United Rugby Championship (URC) clash in Wales on Friday night with winger Werner Kok scoring a hat-trick.

Of course, Plumtree senior had to watch from the stands as his son gave a good account of himself against his father's Springbok-laden side.
