SA Rugby president Mark Alexander admits there is a challenge in twisting the arms of the United Rugby Championship (URC) franchises to get them to hire black head coaches.

As things stand, the Lions, Sharks, Bulls, Stormers and Cheetahs all have white head coaches, something that was singled out in SA Rugby's Strategic Transformation Development Plan 2030 (STDP 2030), which News24 has seen.

The report consisted of 206 pages and concluded that the Springboks - among other South African sides - had missed their transformation targets for 2023.
