On Wednesday, the Special Investigating Unit implicated well-known South African fashion designer Thula Sindi in its irregular grant payments probe with National Lotteries Commission (NLC).

According to the SIU, Sindi, alongside renowned actor and friend Terry Pheto, were some of the beneficiaries of funds from a R5 million grant meant to build a chicken farm.

Curro's Cooper College, in Northriding Johannesburg, obtained a 50% matric pass rate in the 2023 results.

Curro is an independent school network that owns over 180 schools in South Africa and is considered to be one of the most expensive private schools in the country.
