Wednesday's weather: Fine to warm for most of SA, but light rain expected in at least two provinces

The South African Weather Service forecasts fine to warm conditions for most of the country, except for parts of the Western Cape and the Eastern Cape, where light rain is expected in places.

The weather in your region

Gauteng will be fine and warm although the expected UVB sunburn index is very high.

Fine and warm temperatures are expected for Mpumalanga and Limpopo, but it will be hot in the Lowveld.

The North West can expect partly cloudy conditions in the extreme north-west, otherwise fine and warm conditions are forecast.

Fine and warm temperatures are expected in the Free State.

The Northern Cape will be cloudy, with fog in places along the coast and south-western interior in the morning.

Otherwise, fine and cool to warm temperatures are forecast, but partly cloudy conditions are expected in the east.

The wind along the coast will be a moderate to fresh south-easterly, becoming strong from the afternoon.

Cloudy conditions are forecast along the Western Cape coast in the early morning, with fog along the west coast but light rain along the eastern part of the south coast.

Otherwise, it will be partly cloudy and cool to warm. It will become fine over the interior and west coast towards the afternoon.

The wind along the coast will be a light south-easterly, becoming moderate along the west coast.

The expected UVB sunburn index is moderate.

The western half of the Eastern Cape will be fine and warm in the north. Otherwise, cloudy and cool conditions with light morning rain is expected in places in the south, becoming fine in the west in the afternoon.

The wind along the coast will be a light to moderate south-westerly, becoming south-easterly in the afternoon.

Fine and cool conditions are forecast for the eastern half of the province, but it will be cloudy in the south-west with light morning rain in places, spreading to Coffee Bay in the late morning.

The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh south-westerly.

KwaZulu-Natal can expect fine and warm temperatures, becoming partly cloudy in the east from the afternoon.

The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh north-easterly, becoming south-westerly from the south from the late morning.

The expected UVB sunburn index is moderate.
