Seventeen years is a long time to live with grief, and Carmen Williams has had to deal with it in waves for the majority of her life. Here, she reflects on the things she has had to accept and the lessons she has learned from the ever-present grief she feels. 

Most days, I forget that my dad died when I was just 16.

Well, I sort of put it in the back of my head because I have a life to live, and it’s an easier place to put my grief.
