The Nissan NP200 half-ton bakkie had one heck of a run in South Africa, having been in local production since 2008 when it replaced the die-hard Nissan 1400. 

The decision seemed to be a head-scratching one, seeing as though the model was one of its best-selling alongside the Magnite, according to monthly Naamsa vehicle sales. 

Despite that, we contacted Nissan South Africa last year to find out why the model was leaving and if a replacement was on the way.
