A minor who was sexually assaulted by a Limpopo policewoman has been taken to a place of safety, where he will be given psychological treatment and assistance.
The police constable was arrested and has since appeared in court on charges of sexually assaulting a minor, creating and distributing child pornographic material, and sexual grooming of a child.
According to Limpopo police spokesperson Motlafela Mojapelo, the suspect appeared at the Marble Hall Magistrates' Court on Monday and was remanded in custody until January 30.

Limpopo police commissioner Lieutenant-General Thembi Hadebe said:
"The SAPS does not have the space for such people who tarnish its image."
Hadebe said she had already ordered that the suspect be subjected to immediate internal processes in terms of the SAPS disciplinary regulations.
Mojapelo said soon after becoming aware of the video, the commissioner ordered the family violence, child protection and sexual offences unit to conduct an immediate probe into the incident with a view to apprehend the woman and remove the child to a place of safety.
He said internal processes had already kicked in following her arrest and would run parallel with the criminal investigation, which has been taken over by the Independent Police Investigative Directorate (Ipid).
