Beware the passion killers

Remember when you first fell in lust? Remember that uncontrollable force of desire, the insatiable hunger, the wild frenzy of ripping off each others’ clothes and getting down and dirty?

Fast forward in time, and many of those feelings have gone. What happened?

You've grown to know each other all too well, you've slipped into a boring routine and many of those little quirks that you once found so endearing have started to work on your nerves. What once was so attractive has turned into a passion killer.

Passion killers come in many forms and seem to emerge as soon as those heady feelings of intoxication start to simmer down.  Here are three of the worst culprits - work on these and rekindle the passion in your bedroom.

Personal hygiene

It is so easy to let yourself go when the chase is over and you've settled into your relationship. No more going out and dressing up and no more having to keep an eye on your weight. You’ve snatched your prey, right? Not so. Weight gain, burping, living in your old baggy pants all weekend and clipping your nails while watching TV can be serious turn-offs. Bring back the magic into your relationship by keeping some of your grooming private and taking some effort with your appearance. Dress nicely, wear some sexy underwear every day, shower every day, exercise regularly and keep your body trim. You'll not only rekindle desire in your lover, you will also feel much more sexy and confident yourself.

Irritating habits

Small annoying habits such as leaving your socks on the floor, not washing out the bath or telling the same joke at every party can slowly drive a wedge between you. Address the issue with your partner when you're both relaxed and explain how it makes you feel. Use sentences starting with "I" rather than "you" to avoid your partner feeling attacked by you.

Name calling

As we all have different views and ideas, it is only normal that you will argue from time to time. The question, however, is how you argue. If you keep putting your partner down, calling them names and attacking their character, you are causing irreversible damage. Hurtful comments such as "dickhead" and "bitch" are never forgotten and can put a permanent damper on passion. When an argument turns ugly, rather take such time out and continue the conversation when you both feel less emotional.
