Myth 6: It is very painful to have the devise fitted and removed

No it is not very painful – but it can be uncomfortable. Some women describe the discomfort as a similar to period pain. But, there are different ways to control any potential pain during the insertion and an experienced gynaecologist or doctor will know what to do.  Removal is not painful at all and only takes a few minutes.
