Week 32: 8 weeks to go!

Let's take a look at what's happening to you and your unborn baby this week.

Happy Week 32!

Your baby's progress:

  • Your baby weighs about 1.8 kilograms.
  • All five senses are working.
  • Toenails have grown.
  • Your baby may not move around as much. This is because there's less space available in the uterus.
  • The organs continue to mature.
  • Your baby passes urine from the bladder.

Your progress:

  • Haemorrhoids can become a problem because your growing baby presses down on the pelvic floor and impedes blood flow.
  • You're probably gaining about 450 grams a week.

What to do:

  • If you suffer from haemorrhoids, eat fibre-rich foods and avoid lifting heavy objects.
  • Urinary infections can be a problem, so drink plenty of fluids.

Good to know:

  • Keep up with your calcium intake. You and your baby need strong bones.
