Be heart-smart guys

As part of the men’s health month focus, let's consider one of the biggest health threats: heart disease.

High blood fat levels and high blood pressure are major risks for heart disease. Help prevent these by controlling your intake of fats (especially animal fats), reducing salt intake, increasing your intake of high fibre foods, and especially increasing the intake of fruit and vegetables.

Stress also plays a major role in increasing the risk of heart disease. Exercise is a great way of keeping fit, and also reducing stress levels. Combine exercise and family time - find the time to "play" outdoors with your kids.
