Is your loved one due for a hip replacement? A few adjustments should be made to his/her house, particularly to the bedroom. Elevating the bed is one of them.
Take action:
Don't wait until after the operation is done – the bed should be elevated a few days before; ask someone to help you – at least two pairs of strong hands are needed to lift the bed; get hard cement bricks from a hardware or building supplies store and get someone to put one under each corner of the bed; push the bricks in, so that they're at least 10cm from the edge of the bed – this will prevent nasty toe injuries.
