Action point

Certain ADHD medications can disrupt sleep – and an inadequate amount of sleep will make it even more difficult for your child to concentrate.

If your child has ADHD, ensure they get at least 8–10 hours of sleep every night. Try to avoid nighttime stimuli like television, iPad games and so forth.

Instead encourage your child to engage in a calming activity before bed such as reading under a soft light.
