How much time should your child spend on digital media devices? The American Academy of Pediatrics recently updated its guidelines for parents, proposing that for kids aged 2 to 5 it should be limited to one hour a day. The organisation recommends banning digital media an hour before bedtime and keeping mealtimes, bedrooms and parent-child playtime screen free. Parents should also avoid using digital media as the only tool they employ to calm down their children as this may make it difficult for them to learn how to regulate their own emotions.
