The word Reiki can be broken down as "rei" meaning "universal" and "ki" meaning "energy". The ancient art of Reiki is the act of unconditional love and the basis for all touch healing techniques. Instinctively, when pain is experienced, we move our hands to the source of that pain.
Reiki is not a massage, religion, a belief system or a substitute for traditional medical treatment. It is a form of energy healing. It works whether one believes in it or not. However, the recipient of Reiki healing should be a willing recipient so that the effect of the treatment is enhanced and accelerated.
The Reiki practitioner is the Facilitator and the recipient is the Healer. Reiki is given with freedom of choice and free will and so if the recipient wishes to block off the energy healing, the healing will not take place.
Reiki works incredibly well with anything positive and therefore if you are receiving other types of healing treatments, be sure that Reiki will enhance the healing effect and increase the healing power.
Where did Reiki come from?
Reiki is part of every one of us and was once universal and was never meant to be lost. It is said that children of early earth in the civilisation of Mu received Reiki training at school. Further Reiki training was given at the equivalent of our high school and so it continued to the Master/ Teaching degree. Mu and Atlantis were destroyed through earth changes and so only a select few remained with Reiki knowledge.
In the nineteenth century a Japanese man sought the origins of Jesus’ and Buddha’s method of healing. How he found them is all part of learning Reiki within a workshop. This is still NOT a religion.
Within the history of Reiki are many symbols and signs that indicate why we teach as we do and give us a view into the Universal Laws of Life.
Healing at all levels
This healing therapy works on all levels of a persons being and if the Reiki practitioner becomes immersed in what he/she is doing and the Reiki energy is evoked during the treatment, be sure that this treatment will be powerful.
Reiki is concerned with healing at all levels of a persons being, by connecting with the Life Force within. We all have this ‘Universal Life Force Energy’ for it is our birthright. Reiki connects with the life force within.
It is a powerful yet gentle mode of healing and balancing. With this wonderful, spiritual and natural technique, the bodies own natural healing abilities are activated and accelerated.
