White teeth

i would like to know if it is possible to have my front teeth chipped away. i dont like them - i think they are out of proportion in my mouth and would be less self consciuos if they were made smaller. at the same time, i would like to have my teeth whitened. i know britesmile is rather expensive (im a student) do whitening toothpastes work?! what about that colgate white smile product that looks like tippix?

Hi Andrea

Yes it is possible to "trim" your front teeth to make the shape more aesthetically pleasing but this will depend on the shape/position of the other teeth and the amount that the teeth would have to be trimmed.
Regarding the whitening, whitening products do work but the results are less effective that the in house procedures.
Always consult your dentist before using over the counter products.

Hey Andrea

I would also like my teeth to be whitened and i can tell you i've tried Colgate whitening tootpaste and it definitely doesn't make any difference. That Colgate Simply White (the thingy that looks like tippex) is a waste of money. I've used it for more than the recommended time and no change at all. So i would suggest for you to save up and go for the bleach. That's what i am currently doing.
