Q.

Speed Braces

Hi Doc,

What exactly is Speed Braces? Is it used just for over bites, or can it be used for gaps/spaces between teethe. How fast does it work? Is it just as good as normal braces? Is it very painful because the orthodontist doesnt have to tighten it as often (from what i understand). So is it extremely tight when it is initially inserted? Any known side effects etc?

speed braces intended to optimize the movement of teeth once the braces are placed. There are, however, biological limits to the amount of force that can be applied to physically move the teeth through the bone. speak to your orthodontist about these as he/she is best suited to explain whether they will work for you.
